The Green Bay Packers are in a position to compete for a post-season run and possibly a Super Bowl just one full season after trading away Aaron Rodgers.  Jordan Love and the young group of weapons surrounding him put the league on notice during the second half of the 2023 season.

The 2024 off-season has been spent staying young while remaining competitive.  Josh Jacobs (26) and Xavier McKinney (24) are prime examples of that.  However, the Packers did bring in one veteran and his contract terms were just released.

Green Bay Packers Agree To Extremely Team-Friendly Contract (Breaking)

As previously reported, the Packers signed offensive tackle Andre Dillard to a one year deal earlier this month.  The 28-year-old has a ceiling of being a starter for this offense and a floor of being a depth rotational player.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Dillard didn’t receive a single dollar in guarantees, either in salary or a signing bonus. In essence, Dillard needs to earn every penny of his one-year contract. Furthermore, if Dillard makes the 53-man roster, his salary for this season will be just $1.125 million – the minimum for a veteran with Dillard’s level of experience.

Depending on how the Packers use their eleven picks in this week’s draft, Dillard could find himself on the roster bubble. Based on what Green Bay is paying Dillard, he is more likely to compete for a position on the second line of the depth chart than to threaten to take a job on the first line.  However, this contract gives Dillard every reason in the world to play his rear behind off all year long.

All the incentives are in front of him.
