The Green Bay Packers evidently added a wide receiver to the roster, but they didn’t make a big announcement about the move. The Packers didn’t even need to tell the world about a signing to make it happen.
The Green Bay Packers didn’t have much need for a new WR
Wide receiver isn’t an essential need for the Packers this season. Jayden Reed, Romeo Douns, Christian, Watson, Malik Heath, Bo Melton, and Dontayvion Wicks will head into OTAs as the team’s top options for their rotation.
However, the Packers did make an addition at quarterback, and that appears to be the catalyst for Alex McGough’s newest job. The Packers have Jordan Love and Sean Clifford as QB1 and QB2, respectively. They drafted Michael Pratt in the seventh round, and he’s expected to be QB3 before training.
Alex McGough switched to wide receiver
McGough was the Packers QB3 last season. But he’s no longer listed as a quarterback on the Packers official team roster. Per the new update, McGough is now a wide receiver.
It’s a new position for McGough, who has played professionally as a quarterback since the Seattle Seahawks drafted him in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
At six-foot-three, 214 pounds, the 28-year-old has the size to play wide receiver in the league. But does he have the skills to fit in a talented pool of Packers wide receivers?
