The team may have been off, but the front office was busy as the Atlanta Braves made a couple of trades on Thursday.
First, the club announced a trade that sent infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for a player to be named later. 29-year-old Guillorme joined the Braves over the offseason after signing a one-year major league contract. He appeared in ten games with the Braves and got most of his playing time during Ozzie Albies’ absence. He collected three RBI with the Braves and recorded his first RBI with the Angels during his debut on Thursday night.
The Guillorme trade freed up a spot on the 40-man, but it was filled just a few hours later by the acquisition of infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox will receive cash considerations in exchange for Short, who was designated for assignment earlier this week.
To recap; The Braves traded Luis Guillorme to the Angels. To fill that spot, for the time being, they acquired Zack Short. Short, who is out of minor-league options, will be on the 26-man roster.

Short has had a terrible 2024 offensively, but he can definitely run and has a nice glove on him.
