The San Francisco 49ers have officially announced they’ve signed multiple players, including offensive lineman Brandon Parker and cornerback Chase Lucas.

In a press release, the team announced they’ve signed defensive lineman Leonard Floyd to a two-year deal, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, Lucas, Parker and cornerback Isaac Yiadom to one-year deals and re-signed offensive lineman Jon Feliciano to a one-year deal.

A third-round pick by the Raiders in 2018, Brandon Parker appeared in 59 games, including 33 starts for the Silver & Black. He started one game last year for Las Vegas.

The Detroit Lions picked Lucas in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his two years in the NFL, he’s recorded two tackles in 18 games. While he’s listed as a cornerback, he did not play a single defensive snap for the Lions in 2023, getting most of his playing time as a special teams player.

— LB De’Vondre Campbell, one year;
— CB Chase Lucas, one year;

The 49ers are counting on new defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen to get the unit back to dominance

Now they’re counting on the internal promotion of Nick Sorensen into that role — with a dose of outside perspective from former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley — to get the Niners back to performing at a dominant level defensively after taking a little step back last season. “We all know the standard here and we all want to win, we all want to play great defense and that’s the expectation,” Sorensen said Friday in his first public remarks since being hired earlier this offseason. The 49ers didn’t reach that standard last season under Wilks that had been set under previous coordinators Robert Saleh and DeMeco Ryans, especially in the playoffs when they got gashed on the ground against Green Bay and Detroit and then wilted late in a Super Bowl loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
