Atlanta 5, Boston 0 – Braves Journal

Always fun to beat up on our little brothers, though this was a definite Hibernation Mode game – two singles and two homers in the first inning, for a magical four-run inning – and then the offense mustered just five hits and one run the rest of the way.

Happily, Chris Sale was truly dominating, striking out ten in six innings, and the pen completed the shutout, including an inning by the new guy, Ray Kerr. I hope I do not sound too churlish when I complain that I wish the bats could string together hits more routinely.

Instead, Marcell Ozuna hit two homers and Orlando Arcia hit a homer and a double; the team scarcely mustered any other offense, but on the evening in question, it didn’t need to.

Yet another off day tonight, astonishingly, then up to Queens to face the Mets. Offense is always contagious, and here’s hoping the four-spot last night starts to spread!
