The NFL has seen absolute dominance from the Kansas City Chiefs in the past few years. But the back to back Super Bowl Champions may not have their best receiver for the majority of next season. Rashee Rice’s career started with so much promise, but the receiver just cannot sty out of the news in a very bad way.
One NFL insider says it is time to hit the panic button for Rice.
NFL Insider Says Rashee Rice’s Career Is In Jeopardy
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, there was now a third incident that Rice was involved in. This time it was an incident at SMU that involved Rice where there were multiple bullets fired at the car of basketball player Kendric Davis
From Florio’s report:
Per multiple sources, multiple teams learned during the pre-draft process about an alleged incident involving Rice while he was at SMU. Rice believed former SMU basketball player Kendric Davis was seeing Rice’s girlfriend. Rice and some of his friends, per the specific information gathered by at least one team, went to an SMU basketball game. Rice (or someone with him), per the specific information gathered by at least one team, fired multiple bullets into the empty car belonging to Kendric Davis.
This is not the third situation involving Rice in just that last few months alone. Rice is facing eight felony charges due to a street racing incident that took place months ago, in which he fled the scene after a huge accident. He was reportedly driving at 119 MPH when the accident occurred.
Rashee Rice Cannot Seem To Help Himself
Following the street racing accident, it was then reported last month in May that Rice was involved in another altercation at club in Texas. Now a third incident of Rice being linked to a shoot out, it seems that his career could be coming to a very quick end. He will most certainty face a harsh suspension, but after these mounting issues his career may be in jeopardy.
Fans have been growing more concerned that Rice’s career is on very thin ice. Here are some of the best fan reactions to the news:
“Rashee Rice pretty much said let’s see if I can ruin my career in one off season,” one fan said.
Another fan wrote, “Rashee Rice is gonna throw away his career.”
“The Rashee Rice saga has bad vibes,” a third person commented. “Many young WRs wrecked their careers because they couldn’t straighten out their personal lives.”
The Chiefs are expecting Rice to face a major suspension, but at the moment it is unclear just how many games Rice will miss. Rice has been huge for the Chiefs and their success over the last season. Rice finished his rookie season totaling: 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns.
Rice has been growing into Patrick Mahomes favorite receiver target, and in the post season, he was incredibly important to the Chiefs and Andy Reid’s offense. Unfortunately for Rice and the team, Rice will not be able to play the whole year, and it may get even worse if he can’t stay out of trouble.
