Kelly managed to finish the inning giving up one hit and striking out one batter in his lone inning of work, lowering his earned-run average to 5.25.
The Dodgers can’t afford to add another bullpen arm to the injured list that already includes Ryan Brasier, Blake Treinen, Connor Brogdon, and Brusdar Graterol. However, Kelly is no stranger to injuries.
His 2023 season was plagued with three trips to the injured list for myriad ailments including a right groin strain in April, a right elbow inflammation in July, and a right forearm inflammation in August.
Kelly has appeared in 13 games this season, pitching 12 innings and giving up eight runs, seven earned, on 13 hits.
