NFL analyst Joy Taylor believes that new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will have numerous doubters after his not-so-successful run as the Denver Bronco’s quarterback for the past two seasons.
To silence these critics, Taylor believes that Wilson – who Pittsburgh signed as a free agent last month – will need to accomplish at least one goal this season: a playoff victory.
In a video clip of FS1’s “Speak” Monday program, Taylor had all of her co-hosts agreeing that a Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff win would quickly hush Wilson’s doubters.
“That’s not an easy thing to do,” Taylor added of the Steelers winning a postseason matchup.

Wilson’s pairing with head coach Mike Tomlin gives Pittsburgh a chance to make a postseason run, Taylor added.
The Steelers – who have 17 straight non-losing seasons to their credit – have recently been successful without a strong quarterback, putting even more pressure on Wilson to advance Pittsburgh beyond last season to silence critics.
Taylor’s only other scenario where Wilson’s doubters are silenced is for Wilson to play “so spectacular” for Pittsburgh that the team’s defensive play – and not the offense – is the reason the Steelers do not advance to the postseason.
Wilson was just 11-19 as a starter in two seasons with the Broncos.
In those two years, the quarterback completed over 63 percent of his passes for 6,594 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Beyond Wilson’s acquisition, Taylor said that there have been multiple offseason additions that have her excited for the upcoming season.
